A Valuable Service
Leech Industries, a Bradford County company, credits PA SourceNet. “This system has been a great resource to us. It has given us an avenue for suppliers, contractors and services that we otherwise wouldn’t have known existed in and around our area. Our regional contact has saved us time and effort...a very valuable service”.

Company Saves 22%
Dallco Industries requested a PA SourceNet search for suppliers of poly bags to package their sewn products; a match was made with Jomar Plastics of Cambria County. Dallco has since initiated a long-term contract with Jomar. The deal resulted in bringing purchases, that were previously going to another state, to Pennsylvania. By purchasing locally, Dallco cut their costs by 22% while keeping their purchasing dollars working in Pennsylvania.

Business Expands Using PA SourceNet
“Pennsylvania has a great support mechanism in place for expanding business”, according to FJR Enterprises, a New Jersey based company. Through contact with the Pennsylvania Governor’s Action Team, FJR Enterprises was introduced to PA SourceNet. EDCNP’s PA SourceNet staff became the driving force that lead FJR to a prominent Northeastern PA business. Once the connection was made, FJR built the foundation for a long term relationship which is expected to bring millions of dollars in new business to Northeastern PA’s economy. Several small machine shops are also profiting from this endeavor through subcontracting opportunities.

Rediscovering a Company’s Capabilities
Clark Technology Systems of Milton, once a division of W.M. Wagner Sales Co. in Winfield, has grown significantly since going out on its own. When Wagner Sales needed fabricated pump accessories, PA SourceNet matched them with Clark Technology and a contract in excess of $135,000 was soon worked out. Wagner’s purchasing manager said “we weren’t aware of the diversification that Clark Technology was capable of. PA SourceNet also reminded us of the wide array of the company’s products”.

Discovering New Business Only Two Counties Away
American Cap Company (ACC) located in Wheatland, Mercer County, a manufacturer of cylinder caps and rings, was anxious to discover new customers in Pennsylvania. PA SourceNet was able to provide several quality “sales leads”. ACC discovered a company they were not familiar with located only two counties away. General Cylinder, of Westmoreland County, was a perfect match. General Cylinder was also unaware that there was a supplier located so close. Today, ACC is working to enhance this newly established relationship. They insist that without PA SourceNet they may have never known that General Cylinder was there.

Gapping the Distance
Keystone Woods, a pallet mill located in Snyder County, requested a search for suppliers of 4/4 3-common boards. Through PA SourceNet, Keystone Woods learned about Gregory Exley Lumber, a logging and sawmill located in Venango County. Gregory Exley Lumber was able to provide Keystone Woods with the quality and price they were looking for. Keystone Woods reported that this match will result in an ongoing purchase of 4/4 3-common boards from Exley Lumber with an estimated annual value of at least $24,000. According to Mike Hornberger, manager of Keystone Woods, “PA SourceNet is a great help and a good source for suppliers”.

If At First You DO Succeed, Try, Try, Again
Clearfield Powdered Metals, Inc. (CPM), a Clearfield County company, reduced their bar code label costs by 50% with a supplier match from PA SourceNet. Debra Condon, the Purchasing Assistant for CPM said that their company would not have been aware of the label manufacturer Reynolds & Reynolds of Venango County, without PA SourceNet. Although CPM and Reynolds & Reynolds enjoyed a good business relationship, CPM again contacted their regional PA SourceNet Specialist when R & R closed their Franklin office. The regional specialist forwarded a lead for Thermal Label Warehouse of Erie County as a potential replacement. As a result, CPM is building a relationship with Thermal Label Warehouse and continues to receive comparable savings.
